Field Station is an inspiring and inclusive modern lodging brand for the active outdoor community. With two locations – Moab and Joshua Tree – Field Station offers several room types, onsite guides, turnkey outdoor retail, educational programming, DIY or guided experiences, and dining options. Located in some of the nation’s most iconic destinations, Field Station provides inclusive, supportive, and sustainable basecamps for outdoor goers of all backgrounds, experience levels, ages and abilities.

We’re happy to see if your room is available if you arrive early; however, we can’t guarantee an early check-in.
Please check with the front desk upon check-in to see if they are able to accommodate a late check-out.
Bookings may be canceled or changed for free up to 24 hours prior to arrival. Inside 24 hours prior to arrival, cancellations will result in a fee equal to one night’s room charge plus tax.
Some of our offers and discounts carry different cancellation policies. Please check your confirmation email to confirm your reservation’s cancellation policy.
We can definitely add your request to be next to your friend! However, please note it is a request and not a guarantee.
Each accommodation comes with one parking spot. We do not have valet parking. We do not have electric car chargers available, but there are chargers throughout Yucca Valley.
There are a number of ways to get to Field Station Joshua Tree, whether driving or flying:
- Nearby metros include Los Angeles, Riverside, Orange County, San Diego, and Phoenix, AZ which are all home to major airports and within a 1/2 day drive. If you’re traveling from outside of these regions, renting a car or scheduling a shuttle service are both options from these larger cities.
- From San Diego ~2.5 hour drive
- From Los Angeles ~ 2.5 hour drive
- From Phoenix, AZ ~ 4.5 hour drive
- We’re just 30 minutes away from Palm Springs and 75 minutes away from Ontario Regional Airport, if you’re interested in flying into smaller airports.
- From Palm Springs – 40 minutes
- From Ontario – 75 minutes
Joshua Tree is home to one of California’s most unique national parks, and we recommend having your own car if possible to take in all of the sights at your own pace.

Field Station Joshua Tree is just about 20 minutes from the gates of Joshua Tree National Park’s main entrance. Your Field Station reservation does not automatically grant you access to the park.
While many people know Joshua Tree for its nearby national park, there are tons of outdoor activities and local attractions around Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley that offer as much fun as the park itself. Please note, if you do plan to explore Joshua Tree National Park you will need to purchase a day or annual pass.
Some of our favorite attractions outside of the parks include:
- Catching a show at Pappy and Harriet’s in Pioneertown
- Thrifting throughout Yucca Valley
- Enjoy a sound bath at the Integratron
- Grab a bottle of natural wine at the Wine and Rock Shop
Yes! Field Station welcomes all well-behaved dogs with their owners for an additional fee of $20.00 per night for up to 2 dogs. There is a 2 dog maximum with a 80lb maximum weight each. Please note that not all accommodations are dog-friendly.
Dogs must be kept on a maximum 6-foot leash under owner supervision and may not be left unattended at any time. Guests are responsible to “clean up” after their dog. All dog waste must be properly disposed of in a dog receptacle. Noisy, vicious, or unruly dogs are not allowed. Field Station is not responsible for, and will hold dog owner accountable, for any injury or damage caused by your dog.
Dogs may not be left unattended at any time in your accommodation. There are no exceptions to this rule.
We offer doggie relief stations around the property. Pet Owners are required to bring their pets to one of these stations. All dog waste must be disposed of by the owner. There are trash cans located throughout the property for your convenience and dog waste bags are provided.
Damage to furniture, flooring, doors, beds, bedding, etc., caused by your dog will result in a fee for repair or replacement which will be charged to your credit card on file. Additional cleaning costs accrued as a result from a dog are the responsibility of the owner.
If your dog is deemed dangerous, harmful, or disruptive, hotel management has sole discretion to require you to find other accommodations. Any guest who arrives with a dog without prior authorization from Field Station staff may be denied accommodations, depending on management’s appraisal of the situation.
Yes, we offer complimentary WiFi throughout the property and at each room, making it easy to connect with close friends and family to share your adventure. Our van life posts also have complimentary Wifi.
Field Station Joshua Tree has an outdoor pool and jacuzzi. We ask that anyone traveling with children makes sure they supervise their children in the pool at all times as we do not have a lifeguard on duty.
You sure can! All rooms come with a floor bike rack so you can keep your bike secure.
Each of our rooms has several places for gear storage, including peg boards, cubbies, benches, and bike racks.
Yes! We offer group rates for those traveling in larger parties. To learn more, contact us at groups@fieldstation.com.
Yes! Snacks and grab-and-go options are available for purchase, plus you can enjoy food and beverages at Little Station Coffee + Kitchen. There’s also an espresso bar in the lobby at Little Station so that you can start your day with a great cup of coffee.
We do not offer room service; however, there are a variety of food and beverage options offered in the lobby at Little Station Coffee + Kitchen.
